Physical properties:
Hydrochloric acid is a colorless liquid (industrial hydrochloric acid is slightly yellow due to impurities of ferric salt), an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride, and has a pungent odor. Because concentrated hydrochloric acid is volatile, the volatile hydrogen chloride gas reacts with the water vapor in the air to form small droplets of hydrochloric acid, so white mist will be seen. Hydrochloric acid is arbitrarily miscible with water and ethanol, and hydrogen chloride can be dissolved in many organic solvents. Heat is released when concentrated hydrochloric acid is diluted.
Common uses:
For daily use, it can react with insoluble alkali to produce daily necessities such as toilet cleaner and rust remover. Hydrochloric acid is a strong inorganic acid, which is widely used in industrial processing, such as metal refining. Hydrochloric acid can often determine the quality of the product.
